Skip to contentThe Flexifill SA1D is designed as a non aseptic semi-automatic Bag-in-Box filler, specially developed for the filling of fresh milk products into bag in box. Pickups to suit different suppliers tubed fitments are available.
The machine is available in either single head or twin head variations and comes with its own integrated gravity roller conveyor to allow filling of the box directly into the box.
The filler has as standard full CIP (clean in place) and SIP (sterilise in place) modes and can be steam sterilised. A turbine flowmeter is fitted as standard.
Manufactured with 316 Stainless Steel product contact surfaces and 304 main frame these machines are built to a high standard and comply with CE marking requirements.
The SA1D is highly versatile machine and can be a part of many different filling line configurations including upstream case erection and downstream case closing.
The bag is placed manually into the box and box placed under the filling head. The gland is inserted into the jaws. Press two-hand start and front guard lowers to cover the filling area.
The bag is then automatically de-capped, filling head automatically swings over to the empty gland position and lowers, filling is then started. The box is gradually raised to the filling head during filling thereby relieving stress around the gland as the product fills the bag.
When the bag has filled to the pre-determined amount the fill valve is raised and head is swung around to the empty gland position where the tap is re-inserted. Filled bag is then ejected from the jaws.
This configuration is easily managed by a single operator filling bag in boxes alternately and manually feeding full boxes through top taping machine whilst waiting for filling bags to complete cycle.
Typical output filling at 4 litres/sec flow rate to the filler is:
Single head – 3.5 to 4 x 3 gallon bags/min.
Twin head – 7 x 3 gallon bags/min

CIP (CLEAN IN PLACE)
SIP (STERILISE IN PLACE)
allows all ports and valves in contact with product to be opened for in place cleaning.

A length of gravity conveyor to suit the customer is offered as an option. This has the rollers set at the correct height for ease of loading the bag into the box. Guide rails at the correct height also maintain stability when loading.

Turbine flowmeter is our standard meter for non-aseptic liquid products

Flexifill machines can have the option to confirm to a low level Atex category 3.

Dispense fitments come in different formats – our non-powered and powered grippers allow us to handle standard or bespoke fitments and dispense valves.

A laminar airflow cabinet can be fitted around the filling valve to maintain a clean air environment whilst filling product.

Ensure a constant supply of product is available to the filler at all times. Eliminates back shock of product in the system when fill valve closes.

Mass or magnetic flowmeter can be supplied as an option to the turbine flowmeter. The flowmeter will give a high degree of accuracy for a wide range of process conditions.

A hygienic 316L stainless steel centrifugal pump to provide optimum product flow rate during the filling cycle is available as an option. This is generally provided attached to the filler but can also be supplied as a standalone item.
