Skip to contentThe Flexifill AW1 is a compact web fed fully automatic filling machine capable of filling a wide range of shelf stable or extended life products from 2 to 20 litres.
The machine has a high degree of flexibility and can handle all standard Bag-In-Box dispense valves, taps and all types of bags including gusseted bags and stand-up pouch type bags.
The filling head has been designed to give optimum fill quality without any spillage. Also, its easy access means easier cleaning, service and maintenance, thereby reducing downtime, productivity and running costs.
A turbine flowmeter is fitted as standard with magnetic and mass flowmeters as options.
A product buffer vessel is fitted as standard. A vacuum system to provide optimum air level is also fitted as standard.
The filling machine has as standard full CIP (clean in place) and SIP (sterilise in place) modes and can be steam sterilised. Manufactured with 316 Stainless Steel product contact surfaces and 304 main frame these machines are built to a high standard and comply with CE marking requirements.
Web fed bags are linked into the filler and safety doors are closed.
Filler will then de-cap the fitment, evacuate air from the bag and fill the bag to the programmed pre-set value.
The bag is then re-capped, separated from the web and discharged through the chuteloader into a waiting box, the next cycle then begins.
Typical output filling at 4 litres/sec flow rate to the filler is:
12 x 3 litre bags/min.
10 x 5 litre bags/min.
8 x 10 litre bags/min.
Many outfeed options are available to integrate the filler into fully automatic Bag-in-Box line.

Box Erecting and Box Closing equipment available.

Remote chute loading is another option offered.
This gives the customer the oportunity to load the bag into the box in an alternative packing area such as a dry room or temperature controlled area.
Can also be added later if manual packing from a filler is the initial option.

Manual packing is an option on all of Flexifill's fully automatic fillers.
This configuration is often supplied as an alternative to a twin head semi-automatic filler as it only requires one operator to load filled bags.
When production figures increase can be upgraded with a chuteloader module to make a fully automatic line when integrated with box erecting and box closing equipment.

Twin head configuration runs two AW1 fillers side by side which doubles the output, but also allows the customer to run one machine independently if required.
When coupled with twin lane conveyor and control supplied by filler, this is the optimum filling line when linked with carton erection and closure equipment.

Automatic chute loading loads the filled bag into a waiting box. The bag and box are then released for conveyance to a case closer.
The Autoloader module contains box control and box guidance mechanisms together with chute loading change parts to suit different box sizes.
All these parts can be adjusted or changed without the use of any tools to predetermined settings giving a changeover time of just minutes for different box sizes.

An in-line or 90 degree gravity roller outfeed onto a flat belt conveyor allows for downstream automatic or manual packing of the filled bag away from the filling area.

A gripper device to remove and replace press or twist taps.

A Venturi Vacuum system is an option on all our Fillers. This helps maintain good air levels and no drips after filling.

Product buffer tank can be fitted to an AW1 to reduce backshock when the filling valve closes

CIP (CLEAN IN PLACE)
SIP (STERILISE IN PLACE)
allows all ports and valves in contact with product to be opened for in place cleaning.

Turbine flowmeter is our standard meter for non-aseptic liquid products

Flexifill machines can have the option to confirm to a low level Atex category 3.

Dispense fitments come in different formats – our non-powered and powered grippers allow us to handle standard or bespoke fitments and dispense valves.

To extend the shelf life of many products the filler can be fitted with an integrated steamset and steam cup. This allows the face of the filling valve to be steam flushed clean of product after every filling cycle.

A laminar airflow cabinet can be fitted around the filling valve to maintain a clean air environment whilst filling product.

Mass or magnetic flowmeter can be supplied as an option to the turbine flowmeter. The flowmeter will give a high degree of accuracy for a wide range of process conditions.

A hygienic 316L stainless steel centrifugal pump to provide optimum product flow rate during the filling cycle is available as an option. This is generally provided attached to the filler but can also be supplied as a standalone item.
